Dana Newman has often made work that rescues and re-formalizes the fragile remains of the American record. Her interest in the history of art has led, among other work, to a page by page reworking of ‘Un Semaine de Bonte’, Max Ernst’s surrealist novel - and to the construction of numerous Curiosity Cabinets and collages.
